Complete list of the songs featured up until now.
First take into consideration the following things:

- On some cases, a certain song has become so popular that there are many other versions of it (there are times in which those new versions end up being even more popular than the original one), hence, sometimes I put more than one artist on the tags. So:
- This index will help you find lyrics by song, in case you don't know who sings it or who it originally belongs to. The artist index can be found -here-
- If you can't find what you're looking for neither by artist nor song, then it means that song is not available. Have the kanji? try making a request =)

SONG INDEX

. Nagori Yuki (なごり雪)

I'm pretty sure any MISIA fan likes this song.

It was the theme song of the 2009 autum TBS drama -JIN- (adapted from a manga) which tells the story of a brain surgeon (Minakata Jin) who due to some events, ends up being transported back in time to the Edo period (on the time when Sakamoto Ryoma was just starting to make his moves), he then, in the middle of struggles, starts to help people and innovate the medicine while trying to get back to the present and also, trying to help a precious person for him.

Further information regarding the drama and the songCollapse )

I haven't translated it yet, in fact there are some words I don't fully understand, but one of these days I'll properly translate it and then I'll post it here =) Enjoy:

"Sekai ni hitotsu dake no hana" was composed and written by Makihara Noriyuki for the johnny's pop group SMAP. Throughout the time the song has become more and more popular, many artists have sang it, including -of course- fellow Johnny's. And not only japanese! but foreign artists have also played/sang it, we have for example: Coldplay, they played/sang it back in 2008 at one of their concerts in Japan; there's also Marty Friedman who nowadays is very well known for his participation within the japanese music scene and made a cover of the song (without lyrics) released on 2006.
As for SMAP, it is of course their best selling single and they sing it frequently, including every year's "Kouhaku Uta Gassen" (as far as I can remember...).

As one can see, it is definitely a popular song and a beautiful one too, its lyrics are so true and people can learn a lot from them, I'll put up the translation other day.

The video I choose is one of my favorite performances of the song, everyone know the voices of SMAP members (specially Nakai) are not the best but that doesn't matter, because this performance is another example of how music is able to break frontiers: children, young and old people, both male and female, singing along.

世界に一つだけの花

NO.1にならなくてもいい
もともと特別なOnly one

Only one

This is one of the most popular songs of Tokunaga Hideaki, maybe some people will recognize it better because on last year's "FNS Kayousai" Tokunaga sang it along with DBSK (to be sincere I didn't like how they sang it though, I would seriously had prefer Tokunaga singing it alone but anyway), and DBSK (or some members) have also sing it on other occasions; Atsushi (EXILE) sang it too, a pretty good version since his voice is kind of similar to Tokunaga's voice.

Translation not available for now. The video: recorded songs are good, but nothing like live music =) what a great combination of the place, music and voice!

It's a rainy blue It's a rainy blue
ゆれる心 ぬらす涙
It's a rainy blue,
loneliness......

This is a song I like so much, it is kinda japanese folk song. The original version belongs to Iruka and it has also been sang by other artists such as Ayaka Hirahara, Hideaki Tokunaga (it can be found on his "VOCALIST 2" album), TOSHI (X Japan) and others.

On my personal opinion, I like all the versions I have heard until now. I'm not exactly what you would call "a Tokunaga fan" but I do follow his works as he is one of the singers I enjoy listening at the most, his version of the song is lovely, but I must say TOSHI's version may be my favorite (even if he only sang it once as far as I know) because with that voice of his the song gets even more emotional and heartbreaking.

For now I'll just put Kanji + Romaji, translation will come up someday later. As for the video, I was hesitating over which version should I put, at the end I went for TOSHI because the video already includes a translation! :D (I'll still put mine later), and yes, he kind of messed up the 1st verse, nothing uncommon of him when it comes to sing acustic songs /o/.

Snow vestiges (aka: Last Snow)

soon...

After all these years, I'm finally taking over this community!

This was originally planned to be a place with various media: scans, lyrics, translations, downloads etc. but now I don't have the enough time to take care of it anymore, instead:
From time to time I romanize and translate lyrics in order to practice my japanese or just for fun, I've currently done quite many  but I have them all stored on my HD and I think that is just a waste. So: I'll use this place to post those lyrics.
Don't expect this journal to be updated frequently or to contain tons of lyrics though... I move according to my free time and mood.

* What you will find on here

1.- Lyrics (romanji) of songs in japanese, weather if the original version of the song is in japanese or another languaje.
2.- Along with the romaji comes of course the lyric in kanji (or japanese writing)
3.- Finally, a brief description of the songs (and things related to it) is also available, this in order to talk about the song's background which can help us to understand the song on a more complete way.

* How to use this site

You can explore this journal using the tag list on the left side, but if you want to make a more detailed search, try using the index entries: "Artist Index" and "Song Index".
